HIGHLIGHTS
Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla.
Walk down to Phakdingma and stay the night in a lively tea house and meet fellow trekkers.
The next day we start the ascent to Namche Bazaar, probably one of the toughest days.
We stay there for a couple of days for acclimatization The next stop Phunki Tenga, a tea house in the wooded slopes next to dudh kosi river before the climb to monastery of Tengpoche.
The climb to Pheriche continues past Pangpoche which is supposed to harbor the last remains of a yeti.
Pheriche, is extremely windy and cold but we need to stay there for further acclimatization before proceeding to Lobuche and on to Everest base camp at the foot of the Khumbu glacier.
To get the best view of Everest climb up to Kala Pathar with spectacular views of Pumori, Nuptse, lhotse and others as well.
Alternatively from Pheriche we can walk towards Chukhung with panoramic views of the entire upper Himalayas including Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Makalu, Baruntse , Amadablum, Chukhung ri, Nuptse, etc. before starting our descent back to Lukla.
The entire trip takes around 15-20 days.
